OUR FIRST LADY

OUR FIRST LADY

Mrs. Cynthia Brown was born in the State of Delaware and grew up in Wooster, Ohio. She has built her life around helping those in the community with their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs.

She holds a Certificate of Authorization from the State of California which entitles her to serve as a director of any California private postsecondary and vocational education institution.

Mrs. Brown serves as Deputy Director of PCS Family Services, Inc., the community service arm of Brown Memorial Temple Church. She is also a certified facilitator for Anger Management, Parenting and Domestic violence classes offered there.

PCS Family Services, Inc. provides services such as Academic Mentoring Program for at-risk children and youth, Strengthening Families Support Services for at-risk families, Re-entry Support Services for ex-offenders and their families. The non-profit hosts annual Back-to-School Giveaways; Christmas Holiday giveaways where new toys and holiday food boxes are distributed to low income and needy families; annual health fairs; and summer day camps.

Mrs. Brown has recently launched a second community service arm of the church: The Brown Memorial Temple Community Development Center where she serves as Executive Director.  The organization is committed to serving its neighbors by providing food, clothing, financial literacy, mental health workshops, and most importantly, hope for the disadvantaged across the Pomona area.

She is also a Community Cultural Broker for the L.A. County’s Department of Children and Families Services’ Pomona Office.

As a member of the Southern California Evangelistic Jurisdiction of the Church of God In Christ, Mrs. Brown has served as Elect Lady of the Jurisdictional Department of Evangelism, Chairperson of the Jurisdictional Banquet Committee, Assistant Supervisor of the Jurisdictional Women’s Department, and was elevated at the November 2016 International Holy Convocation to the position of Jurisdictional Supervisor of the Department of Women. Her responsibilities cover the counties of Los Angeles, Riverside, & San Bernardino.

The Lord has given Evangelist Brown a ministry to serve those “great and small.”  Anyone who knows her recognizes that she is a “catalyst” that has been anointed and appointed for an hour and time as this.  Truly she is an exemplary wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, teacher, missionary, leader of women and servant of God.
